1999 (May) Animals and Religion conference held at Harvard University. Organized by Paul Waldau and Kimberley Patton, this conference was sponsored by HSUS-affiliated group Center for Respect of Life and Environment led by the visionary Rick Clugston. Instrumental in securing funding for this conference were Mary Evelyn Tucker and John Grim, who direct the Forum on Religion and Ecology based at Yale University. Most of the papers at this conference appear in A Communion of Subjects, which is described throughout this website.
